Crispy French Fries


Evening time my daughter asking for snacks, I remembered she loved to have French fries when we went to McDonalds, so I prepared at home and served her she really enjoyed and asked for more. Even elders also likes to have you can see in few minutes your served plate will be empty and people will be waiting to have some more.

Preparation time: 10mins
Cooking time: 15mins
Serves: 2

Ingredients:
2 big long potatoes
1 tsp Red chilli powder
1 tsp Sugar
Vegetable Oil for deep fry
Salt
Water

Procedure:
1.     Wash the potatoes, peel the skin and cut into long medium sized pieces and put into water containing sugar.
2.     After 5mins, strain the water and using paper towels drain the water from potatoes.
3.     Heat oil for deep fry, later add the chopped potatoes and deep fry in medium flame till it turns golden color.
4.     Remove excess oil using paper towel.
5.     Sprinkle salt and red chilli powder and toss the fries so that they are evenly distributed.
  1. Ready to serve yummy French fries crispy outside and soft inside.

  1. I several times tried preparing french fries, but i never got it crispy..

    I had never soaked it in water containing sugar, is this the reason for crispiness??

  2. that may not exact reason, its more for taste and avoiding color change but we should fry in medium flame for long time until u see a crispy layer on the top.
